Amazon Decolonizing Design
Amazon Design regularly hosts internal professional enrichment events. Among them is the annual Conflux Conference, which brings together creative leaders from around the world.
Conflux 2020 was about Decolonizing Design. The goal was to re-center the voices of Black, Latinx, and Native American designers in an industry historically dominated by a white male European perspective.
Every image, message and pattern is a tapestry of hexagons.
Champions created the visual identity for Conflux 2020 by starting with custom typography and patterning. The strong hexagonal motif carries the metaphor of decolonization throughout the system as patterns form and break away to reveal the conferences most diverse group of speakers to date.
